The King James Version of the Bible has a number of nice phrases and similes. Coming from Tyndale’s translation several of these similes were introduced into the English language by the English Bibles of the sixteenth century. One of these is the use of the two words ‘of life.’ There are at least 18 different phrases used with these two words. They include ‘tree of life,’ fountains of life’ and ‘spirit of life.’ The poem below uses each of the 18 phrases I know of.
